We Need Your Help!
Dear Lucy,
NTA is a valued member of the Trust for Insuring Educators (TIE), which has enjoyed a successful partnership for nearly half a century in large part because of groups like yours.
We are writing today to request your association’s participation in TIE’s 2021 Term Life Insurance Campaign, which is currently underway.
As of Thursday, we have not received your member list, despite two earlier requests.
There are many reasons to participate, but let us share just a few:
Can we count on you help us reach our goal?

Dear Lucy,

As of Thursday, we have not received your member list, despite two earlier requests.
There are many reasons to participate, but let us share just a few:
- The TIE Term Life Plan is the cornerstone of your Member Insurance Program. It was the first insurance plan offered to educators when TIE was formed in 1972, and it has always been one of TIE’s largest and most popular insurance plans.
- In recent years, the plan has declined in premium/participation, partially due to demographic shifts (retiring Baby Boomers), partially due to increased competition online, and partially due to mediocre participation in TIE’s annual term life campaigns.
- This year, our administrator, Forrest T. Jones & Company, has committed additional resources to bolster the marketing of the TIE Term Life Plan. FTJ has engaged an outside marketing firm with special expertise in promoting term life to association members. This represents a significant investment in TIE that cannot be recouped without full participation on the part of TIE associations.
- Finally, as a member of TIE, every association agrees to participate in a minimum of two marketing campaigns each year; this commitment is written into TIE’s Policies and Procedures. We hope associations participate in all campaigns each year … but it’s particularly important that the term life campaign be one of the choices.
Can we count on you help us reach our goal?
