The NTA Caring for Tutors Award

The Caring for Tutors Award honors outstanding individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to fostering a culture of care within the tutoring profession. This prestigious recognition celebrates NTA members who go above and beyond to support, mentor, and uplift their fellow tutors and students, ensuring a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Must be a current member of the National Tutoring Association (NTA).
  • Must be nominated by an NTA member or a student.
  • Must have demonstrated outstanding dedication to creating a culture of care within the tutoring community.
  • Must have a proven track record of mentoring, supporting, and positively impacting tutors and students.

​Nomination Process:
  1. Submission of Nomination:
    • A completed nomination form must be submitted by an NTA member or student.
    • The form should include specific examples of how the nominee has demonstrated exceptional care and support in tutoring.
  2. Supporting Documentation:
    • A letter of recommendation from the nominator.
    • Optional: Additional letters of support from colleagues, students, or administrators.
    • Testimonials or evidence showcasing the nominee’s contributions to a culture of care in tutoring.
  3. Review and Selection:
    • A panel of NTA representatives will evaluate nominations based on the nominee’s demonstrated impact, dedication, and commitment to fostering a caring tutoring environment.
    • Finalists may be contacted for a brief interview or additional information.
    • The recipient must be present (or have someone available to accept the award on their behalf) at the award ceremony to win. 

Award Recognition:

  • The recipient of the Caring for Tutors Award will be honored at the annual NTA conference.
  • The winner will receive a commemorative plaque and a feature in the NTA newsletter and website.
  • The awardee will also have the opportunity to share their insights and best practices with the broader tutoring community.
The deadline for all awards is September 1, 2025. Award packages must be postmarked by this date for consideration.
