Each Level of Certification requires a minimum number of structured training hours supervised by an NTA certified trainer or the completion of the Tutoring Foundations or Trainers Capstone Online Course approved by NTA and provided by Crossroads of Learning. MASTER TUTOR CERTIFICATION
- All previous tutor trainer topics plus:
- Responsible for supervision of all tutor training
- Planning educational and/or literacy programs.
- Sits on tutorial, developmental education, or literacy committees within the institution or community.
- Full or partial budgetary responsibility.
- Actively seeks outside program funding.
- Actively seeks program awareness in the community.
- Hires and supervises personnel.
- Actively participates in tutorial research on tutor training and evaluation
- Completion of the Tutoring Foundations Comprehensive and Capstone online courses as approved by the NTA and provided by Crossroads of Learning
- Certification as an Academic Coach.
TUTOR ADMINISTRATOR CERTIFICATION
- All previous level topics plus:
- Able to organize program resources and personnel.
- Basic budgetary responsibility.
- Assist with recruitment and training of staff and volunteers.
- Instructional Design.
- Development of instructional materials.
- Advanced cultural awareness.
- Documentation and record keeping.
- Developing data bases.
- Responsible for tutor/student scheduling.
- Responsible for tutor/student conflict resolution.
- Actively participates in tutorial research on administrative or training topics
TUTOR TRAINER CERTIFICATION
- All topics covered in Basic through Advanced Tutor Certification
- Responsible for supervision of all tutor training
- Understanding Instructional Differences.
- Sits on tutorial, developmental education, or literacy committees within the institution or community.
- Understands Learning Communities.
- Hires and/or supervises personnel.
- Actively participates in tutorial research on tutor training and evaluation
- Development of instructional materials.
- Understands Learning preferences and multiple modalities.
- Can communicate the value of training and certification.
- Understands Academic Rigor in Training.
- Has demonstrated some previous training or workshop experience.
- Advanced cultural awareness.
- Can evaluate self as a trainer.
- Completion of the Tutoring Foundations Capstone Online program as approved by the NTA and provided by Crossroads of Learning.
MASTER TUTOR TRAINER CERTIFICATION
