CERTIFICATION PREREQUISITES

TUTOR DIRECTOR OR ADMINISTRATOR CERTIFICATION

  1. Bachelor’s degree earned.
  2. NTA Member in good standing
  3. Presented a research or training session at a minimum of two regional or national tutorial or developmental educational conferences.
  4. Published one article in the NTA Newsletter or other recognized educational forum.
  5. Completion of all modules or the comprehensive program of the NTA developed and approved “Tutoring Foundations” Comprehensive  course provided by Crossroads of Learning.
  6. Supporting documentation as indicated on the certification application and checklist.
  7. A minimum of one year experience as an educational program administrator, director or coordinator.
  8. A minimum of 6 months as a tutorial program administrator, director or coordinator.

TUTOR TRAINER CERTIFICATION

  1. Bachelor’s degree earned (Master’s degree preferred)
  2. NTA Member in good standing
  3. Completion of all modules or the comprehensive program of the NTA developed and approved “Tutoring Foundations” course provided by Crossroads of Learning, as well as completion of the Train the Trainer Capstone online NTA approved training program provided by Crossroads of Learning.
  4. Supporting documentation as indicated on the certification application and checklist.
  5. Documented previous experience facilitating workshops, seminars or other professional trainings.

 MASTER TUTOR TRAINER CERTIFICATION

  1. Bachelor’s degree earned (Master’s degree preferred)
  2. NTA Member in good standing
  3. Presented a research or “hot topics” session at a minimum of two regional or national tutorial or developmental educational conferences.
  4. Published one article in the NTA Newsletter or other recognized educational forum.
  5. Completion of all modules or the comprehensive program of the NTA developed and approved “Tutoring Foundations” course provided by Crossroads of Learning as well as the Train the Trainer Capstone online training program.
  6. Complete training as a Certified Academic Coach at the Advanced Level.
  7. Supporting documentation as indicated on the certification application and checklist.
  8. A minimum of two years experience as an educational program administrator, director or coordinator.
  9. A minimum of one year as a tutorial program administrator, director or coordinator.
  10. Documented previous experience facilitating workshops, seminars or other professional trainings.
