LEVEL I - Basic

1. Minimum of 50 hours tutorial experience.
2. NTA membership in good standing.
3. Competency proven through one of the following:
   a) A minimum of 10 hours of structured tutor training via workshops and conferences with an NTA certified tutor trainer or supervisor, or
   b) Completion of the Basic module of the NTA developed and approved “Tutoring Foundations” course provided by Crossroads of Learning
   c) Knowledge and skills testing. Available on-line, more info.
4. Supporting documentation as indicated on the certification application and checklist.
   

LEVEL I - Intermediate

1. Minimum of 75 hours tutorial experience
2. NTA membership in good standing
3. Competency proven through one of the following:
   a) Completion of the Intermediate module of the NTA developed and approved “Tutoring Foundations” course provided by Crossroads of Learning
   b) Knowledge and skills testing. Available on-line, more info

LEVEL I - Advanced

1. A Minimum of 100 hours of tutorial experience
2. NTA Membership in good standing
3. Competency proven through one of the following:
   a) Completion of the Advanced module of the NTA developed and approved “Tutoring Foundations” course provided by Crossroads of Learning
