How do I earn CONTINUING CERTIFICATION UNITS? Continuing Certification Units (CCU's) toward certification renewal may be earned in a variety of ways:
Attend the NTA Annual Conference (9 CCU's).
Attend local, regional or national workshops, seminars, and conferences focusing on tutorial assistance, developmental education, or literacy programs (1-3 CCU's).
Successfully complete a web based NTA subject specific seminar (3 CCU's).
Successfully complete a web based NTA tutor training course (6-9 CCU's).
Successfully complete a face-to-face NTA tutor training course (6-9 CCU's).
Present at local, regional or national workshops, seminars and conferences focusing on tutorial assistance, developmental education, or literacy programs (2 CCU's).
Successfully complete a graduate course at an accredited postsecondary institution (3 credit bearing minimum) focusing on tutorial assistance, developmental education, or literacy programs (3 CCU's).
Successfully complete for credit projects and/or directed independent studies at an accredited postsecondary institution focusing on tutorial assistance, developmental education, or literacy programs (3 CCU's).
Document community service or volunteerism for tutorial assistance, developmental education, or literacy programs (up to 5 CCU's).
Publish major articles and/or contribute chapters to research works focusing on tutorial assistance, developmental education, or literacy programs (5 CCU's).
For Tutor Trainers and Master Tutor Trainers, hold trainings (5 CCU’s)
