Certification Endorsments |
Discipline Specific Academic Endorsements A discipline specific academic endorsement is awarded in addition to each level of certification and assumes the achievement of the requirements for that level and that the recipient has completed training and has done sufficient practice to be able to tutor or coach within the discipline at all academic levels. Basic Level At least 30 hours of experience tutoring within the discipline, 20 of which have been done as part of Basic Level I or II Tutor Certification. Also required are at least 9 credit hours of undergraduate college level coursework in diverse aspects of the discipline with a grade average of “B” or better. Advanced At least 40 hours of experience tutoring within the discipline, 20 of which have been done as part of Advanced Level I Tutor Certification. Also required are at least 18 credit hours of undergraduate college level coursework in diverse aspects of the discipline with a grade average of “B” or better. Master's Level At least 50 hours of experience tutoring within the discipline, 20 of which have been done as part of Master Level I Certification. Also required are at least 18 credit hours of undergraduate college level coursework in diverse aspects of the discipline with a grade average of “B” or better and at least 9 credit hours of graduate level coursework in the discipline demonstrating a grade of "B" or better.
